  " Dix (Hoar) Hobart left Brimfield at age 19 and traveled west. Stopped in NYS, returned to Brimfield. In 1792 he returned and settled on Pompey Hill (NYS) where he lived for 19 years. He moved to Tully where his first wife died. (1st wife Susan Shevalier) He had nine children by 1st wife. He then married her sister, Lany or Lydia, and had 9 more children. Birth name Hoar. In 1829 changed name to Hoburt (sp) on petition of his brother Aaron. Other children changed to Homer and Hobart. Beverly J. Gardner, Canastota, NY."
