    In 1845, on the sixth of March, he married Maria Katharina Cappel (1818) in his first marriage. She is born on 3rd December 1818 in Erdesbach. According to her birth certificate the parents are Georg Cappel
    and Maria Elisabetha Hertel.

    • Widower Johann Georg Edinger married his sister-in-law Maria Elisabeth Cappel on March 20, 1848 immediately after the expiration of the year of mourning.

      Elisabeth is very pregnant at this time. On April 11, 1848 Friederich Edinger is born.

      Because of family ties of the bride and groom, the marriage is only by special permit. According to Bavarian law, this sovereign dispensation is given only to Protestant subjects of the King of Bavaria. It is valid for Bavaria and not recognized in America. Therefore, official records show them getting married in Bavaria and also in America.
