576 | We can follow the lives of relatives through the US Federal Census and other information. Here is what can be determined about Amasa Hobart: According to the 1869 Census, Dix was 25 years old living in Marcellus, NY with his wife Jennette (sp) who was 18 years old and one year old Dix. Amasa was a laborer most likely a farm laborer. On June 25, 1870 Amasa was 36 living in Tully, NY with Jenette (sp) who was 30 along with son Dix (11 years), daughter Nora (9), son Willard (3). Amasa worked as a farm laborer. On June 1st, 1880 Amasa was 46 living in Tully with Janet (sp) who was 40 along with Dix R. (21), Nora (19), Millard (13), Seth (8), daughter Florence (6), son Emmett (2) and daughter Nellie who was born October 1879. Amasa was a day laborer and Janet was keeping house. On June 6, 1900 Amasa was 66 years old showing that he was born in 1834 and that had been married for forty-four years. Jenette was 60 years old showing thsat she was born in 1840. According to the report Jenette was the mother of nine children however only four were still alive. LIving with them was eighteen year old son Elmer born in 1882 and fourteen year old daughter Carrie who was born in 1886. The family lived next door to Amasa's son Millard's family. In 1930 Jeanette was living in the Homer Home for Aged Women as a 90 year old widow. The census states that she was 16 when she got married to Amasa. | Hobart, Amasa (I1076)

Elisabeth is very pregnant at this time. On April 11, 1848 Friederich Edinger is born. Because of family ties of the bride and groom, the marriage is only by special permit. According to Bavarian law, this sovereign dispensation is given only to Protestant subjects of the King of Bavaria. It is valid for Bavaria and not recognized in America.
